The following image is a
snapshot of the screen during visual tests performed on the video board
half of a Galaga PCB set. The desired tests pattern is selected from the
column on the left. Selection causes the data required to be loaded from
a file, and transferred to the video board RAM chips via the hardware
interface board. The
tests will work from any one of the three microprocessor sockets on the CPU
board. This test group makes it possible to load the monitor screen with different scenes taken out of actual game play. Many of the tests in this group are used in the Galaga test procedure , which is a particular order of tests chosen from the Galaga Test Table. |

| These tests are
conducted on all Galaga board sets submitted for repair to GLS1
Electronics. The tests
in this test group are all visually passed, however, a failure in the
RAM circuitry will show up as an error, and error analysis can begin, if
this option is selected. Contact me at greg@gls1electronics.com for more information regarding Galaga board repair. |
